Mine Crashes on the Dakota club track when doing drift in career or quick race, Ive tried the DEP fix, Rolling back physx drivers, lowering graphics detail, renaming the EXE file, amongst other things and to no avail,

So now im gonna try my Origin version and see if that has the same problem...

Any prob you can find on the net, ive tried it.
Never had this problem since ive switched from an ATI 6950 to a Nvidia 970.

I've never had this problem befor I used to be able to play it untill I had to reinstall steam, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and nothing happend. My graphics card is a AMD Radeon R9 270.

Origin version still the same...

The only fix is to disconnect your pc from the internet while playing. The problem seems to be caused by autolog.

Just for the record, I have the Origin version and it's all good. I have even linked its executable file to Steam so I can take screenshots and keep it at just one place, however, I still think about acquiring it through Steam so I could sell my Origin acccount since I don't use it anymore, except for a few games I don't care that much.

But now I'm concerned after reading this. Is that a specifically Steam issue or is it related to Radeons? I have a steam friend with a 260X that faces framerates problems and said it is related to his graphics card.

Btw, mine is an Nvidia card.

If your game doesn't crash when you are disconnected from internet and if you have a good firewall, you can try this:

Create rules for SHIFT2U.exe:

- Allow 74.205.9.232, 159.153.234.51, 159.153.235.22 in TCP protocol (both direction)
- Block all other TCP traffic (both direction)

These IPs are for AUTOLOG and lobby.

Now, I can play online with a friend.

Good luck.
Ok thanks I'll try.

Do I make this rule change in my firewall settings? I don't want to play online, just not have to disconnect every time.

Had this issue where it would crash to desktop when loading anything after completion of the first few career events.

Only way I could fix it was by using my firewall and just blocking the SHIFT2U.exe

Game works 100% only down side is no online play but didn't buy for online so don't really care!

Other people say that reinstalling phyx and graphics drivers sometimes work, and some people said that turning down graphics a little even on r9 290s that it was stopping the crashes.

I've tried both of these, but I don't know where to allow Ip's and stuff, I have mcafee, and if I wanna do stuff with the fire wall I have to go their. And I've blocked the game but when I start a race it still crashes and McAfee pops up and says "Blocked program wants internet access". Should I get rid of McAfee?

It still crashes when I'm offline, Thanks for trying to help though.

Unfortunately, you have to configure these rules even if you want to play offline, SHIFT2U connects to many IP at launch and some of them are crashing the game.
Thank you. I disabled it in my firewall and have been happily racing. Cheers
