Dead Space 2

Why can't I change Aim mode (toogle) to mouse 2?
I want to switch controlls between aim mode and aim mode (toogle), but it won't let me!
In Dead Space I could do that, but in this game no. Why?

While this isn't really and answer to what you're asking, it should be very doable to bind it (non toggle) to a button, and have MB2 activate constant push of that button, and release upon second MB2 click. This with AutoHotKey, or something similar.

If I understand the question correctly.

I should be more clear. What im trying to say is that the game doesn't allow me to pick right mouse button binding for aimlock (capslock by default). I can choose any other keyboard binding except for right button mouse for aimlock.
Even if I remove default keybinding for quick aim (right mouse button / mouse2) for different button - still won't let me pick mouse2 for aimlock ( I thought by making mouse2 not in use in any controls will allow me to pick this keybinding for aimlock...)

If you download AutoHotkey here: https://autohotkey.com/download/
Install it, then open notepad, and paste this:
"RButton::Capslock"
Save it as anything.ahk (ds2.ahk or something else), then right-click the .ahk file, and hit "run script".
Now your right mousebutton (MB2) should behave as capslock. As it's a really basic script, you might have to kill AutoHotkey from taskmgr to disable it.

That do the trick?

Felt bad for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ exit-method, using this will allow you to close AHK completely with Alt + K. Not case sensitive, and works with at least the left-Alt key. Not sure with AltGr, or right-Alt.

RButton::Capslock
Alt & K::ExitApp

Tested it now, and seems to work great as long as you bind the regular aiming to some button you do not use, or simply clear it. If not, both will be triggered, but the regular first. Not sure if it has much impact on gameplay, but the animation looked a bit weird.

And Alt+K only works outside of the game. Good as you don't accidentally close it, impractical if you do want to close it. Luckily Alt-Tab works great in the game.

It does the trick, thanks :steamhappy:, but it's still unclear why the RMB cannot be directly bound to an action in Dead Space 2...
