The sound effects have already been improved, although we are still working on them. The stuff created in JP were custom and are copyrighted, so we have to make our own. Fortunately there are a fair number of sources talking about what went into their sounds.
New video and more info in general is coming tomorrow!
Your a champ and I wish you the best on your game, I still dust off my old 1993 copy to be a Raptor, Some people just dont know what this is about :)
JP has a din oexpert and still used a huge Velociraptor in the mvoies. Big deal. Of course the reason was the name Deinonycus hard to get used in the movie and for the viewers. So they used the Velociraptor name instead. And that sticked on it.
And it was attempting to provide information alongside that, which might have confused things. But I didn't take it as a personal attack or something, and at any rate we shouldn't go attacking him.
No harm, no foul! And I don't think we should get in a ruffle about people preferring one vision of dinos over another, honestly.
We think of it as an adult achillobator.
Very much in agreement with you about half-arsed-ness of most feathered depictions. That's something we're vaguely consulting with a paleontologist on who is actually making his own dinosaur game as well (a very awesome one that is upcoming and very unlike ours).
I don't want to overstate our relationship to him: I share things with a sometimes-contractor of ours, who is friends with the other guy, and they chat about what is right and wrong about it on skype, and then I hear back. ;) And it's completely at the leisure of the two of them wanting to do this, versus some official thing.
And woe betide you should the reflections not be realistic!
