Hypertube Station Bug? *STUCK*

I am in the first part of the hypertube floor and cannot get Brian's finger bone to scan as DNA on the table. Says its on the spacetime manipulator and I believe I see the bone at the end but cannot move it onto the table.. Please help, stuck!!

We have no idea why this keeps happening but restarting that specific scene from the scene select and just putting the manipulator in the DNA scanner before the clue appears makes it work. We are trying to figure out why it stops working but we haven't yet

I had the exact same problem at that point. It seams as the only way to get it work was to try it in this order:

1) Restart the Level (Return to the menu then resume game)
2) Walk up to the table and press the "Button"
3) Take out the Space Time Manipulator
4) With your free hand attempt to grab and hold the finger bone ONCE
(The hand your using to grab it should turn invisible, but not appear to hold anything)
Note: it can only be grabed in this fasion ONE TIME
5) Move your hand into the sphere on the table and it should work

At least this is all that seamed to work for me after several attempts.
