Worker shift alternation
Is there any way to alternate worker shifts inside the same facility?

For example, consider a single research lab. All 3 shifts fully manned, with colonists ABC, DEF and GHI manning the morning, afternoon and night shifts, respectively. It seems to me extremely illogical that they're forever locked in those shifts instead of alternating in order to spread out sanity loss.

For example, shoft alternation could happen in 6 Sol cycles:

Sols 30-31:
ABC DEF GHI
Sols 32-33:
DEF GHI ABC
Sols 35-36:
GHI ABC DEF
Sols 37-38:
ABC DEF GHI
... and so on.

It makes no sense for people to be enslaved into eternally working night shifts until they burn out completely while the others are in their comfy shifts just chilling and not caring at all. You can do it manually, of course, but it's a complete nightmare of microing to do it and it's such a simple and easy to implement functionality that I really don't understand why it doesn't exist already.

Or maybe it does and I'm blind, who knows.

Yeah that's a tough call. There is a tech, that allows martian borns to not get sanity hits to night shifts.

Yeah that is one feature severely lacking in the game.

I mean it would be a crapload of micromanagement but it would be nice to see that colonists can be set to certain shifts.

Like the guy who is composed, would be great to be able to set them to night shift work.

If we were able to do such a thing then it would make a nocturnal type perk/flaw possible.

I think he meant NocturnalAdaptation, but that's only for perf, not sanity.

Ya know ChoGGi it is too bad you dont have the mod tools to put a filter on a shift like domes.....

Do what now?

Come on, all them mod you made, dont be so modest :P

Before it got patched someone made a mod to allow/disallow specialized workers.

All you would need to do is expand on those filters with a mod to include/exclude traits and perks.

I dont think the tools or capability exist to do it, otherwise someone like you would have done it already.

No, I just wasn't parsing the sentence :)

There's options in ECM to allow/disallow traits, but nothing shift wise.

Well I always just run heavy workload during day shifts and not during night shifts, that way everyone (except workaholics) get equal sanity penalties.

Sorry confused the night shift tech with these two:
Good Vibrartions - Domes restore extra sanity
Rapid Sleep - regains sanity after one hour of sleep.
