How can I get robot through laser room?

Even with a walkthrough I just don't seem to be able to get through without being zapped, to the extent where I have given up on the game and started another one because it is so frustrating! Is there any way of skipping this bit? I love this game and would really like to finish it so if anyone can help, PLEASE!!!
