I think i understood that it has to do with the publishing contract being over. Not absolutely sure tho.

Looks like they just didn't know. I expect they'll clear it up now that they're aware it's gone.

4. If you made all right game will launch.
5. Have fun!

It didn't work for me...I just get an MS-Dos window for a split second then it crashes. I followed the instructions carefully

Sorry about this, folks, but I can tell you that we're working to put Scratches back on Steam. You can't imagine how happy I am to see so much interest on this beloved project -- Scratches never say die :)

How is one supposed to know the system requirements for a "removed" game? I was thinking of finally playing this, but I don't know if my older machine can run it?

Well, you ask can the developer :D

Here's the requirements for Scratches DC:

Windows 98SE/2000/XP
800 MHz CPU
128 MB RAM
16 MB OpenGL compatible video card
Sound card
24X CD-ROM drive

As you can see, any decent computer can deal with it. I take you have a sound card. And obviously the CD-ROM drive doesn't apply for Steam!

Just make sure that you update your video card drivers. OpenGL has lousy support on Windows.
