I think that's as far as you can go without using the shop. The health on the bosses by this point are obscene. I shall continue to go beyond to see if it's possible, but I believe conventional means is at its limit here.

I managed to reach wave 73 using items. I can't see how it's possible to pass the 60's waves without items as the dragon bosses won't die unless I soften them up with several Nukes & if one makes it through it's game over regardless of how many lives you have left.

I made it to level 62 with no items and only my second try. But only one guy got through but he was big and took out my last 8 hearts. Which is lame. I would have worked harder to stop him, thought maybe he'd be worth a few at best.

Well that's a bummer to find out that the best you can do with no items is in the 60's and maybe 70 if you're super lucky. Kind of cuts down on a reason to keep playing. I thought maybe with work you can go to 100 or more. Those guys with 2 million points must be hackers or just pay to play or saved a billion diamonds to use the nuclear bomb over and over.

They are most definitely hackers, that happens with nearly all ranked games as far as I can tell. I don't care about that though, because I always play anything ranked/scored with the assumption some people will hack/cheat just to see what they can accomplish. It's not even a bad thing, unless prizes are involved, then it's wrong. Other than that, just seeing what you can achieve on your own is satisfying enough for me.

That being said, I don't get further than low 30's on Temple of Evil without items. With a couple items I hit low 60's. I don't use much in way of strategy though, I tend to just wing it, and I always change my hero and tower layout just for fun.

What do you guys use that you can hit 60 with no items? I know Boneheart is generally seen as the best hero, but what about in way of towers? What does your map look like and what's the tower progression you build to get there for those long rounds without items?
