"Reduced latency issues"

Can anyone confirm?

Good work

I applied the August 6th patch, and I'm still getting very heavy bandwidth activity once I start looking for players online. The bandwidth continues even after exiting multiplayer mode. It would stop once I close down the Steam application.

These patch notes warm my heart, wbacon. Just in time for Ultra as well.

Latency is just as bad as before. Did you guys seriously just remove the "waiting for player" message and think we wouldn't notice or something? What is going on at QLOC? Is this Dilbert? Is this real life?

I want GFWL back.

Also, latency bars are incredibly inconsistent now. You see a green bar, join a game, and it's orange or red afterwards. Still buggy, just in a different way.

I realise that I can still hear the other person's mic when I minimise the game in windows. Is that normal ? I dont remember encountering this issue previously.

Well done, half way there.

A lot of good fixes in here, the arcade mode challenger thing was driving me insane at times.

Being able to see recent played opponents is cool too.

Still getting a bug where some of my replays imported from the GFWL version are completely broken. In the middle of a round, both fighters will just stop moving until the round Time Overs.

(I suspect that the issue here is that either A) the inputs aren't being read the same way, B) the inputs weren't copied/transferred right, or C) that move properties have changed so that the same inputs are resulting in a different match being played out)

You're right that would be better, but I think that's a limitation of Steamworks.

Please note that all my steam ports are properly forwarded.

I was able to play only one game decently with a green bar (not perfectly fluid, but acceptable) with a player from the same country (France), and even then there was 5 seconds of freezee / heavy lag.
My other 3 matches (green connection that turned out to be yellow in the lobby) were terrible, with many freezes / lag, unstable connectivity. I've also tried to join games for a long time, many many attempts, but all connections were orange or red, or whenever I tried to connect, I was rejected. Many times, I thought I would have a green bar and when in the 1v1 lobby, it was orange instead. Yellow connection is not playable, it was playable in GFWL.

Overall, my online experience is terrible, and is much less a problem on my PS3. I will hold buying USFIV until the network code is significantly better. I hope Capcom won't give up on the Steam release, because that's the future of the game, not the old gen consoles.
