@ QLOC, DIMPS, BANDAI: Just give us separate multiplayer servers / lobbies that allow mods
All EAC and patching has accomplished is encouraging people to find new workarounds to allow people to play online using mods again. Right now, people can use mods online once again.

QLOC / DIMPS / BANDAI, you must be aware that people want to use mods online, so why can't you just create extra servers or lobby options to allow people to natively play with and against each other again with mods? The people who want to play without mods can have their EAC-protected gameplay and the people who want to play with their friends using the same mods can do so without having to jump through unconventional hoops.

It's not about caving (edit) in, it's about letting players play the game the way they want. Regardless of whether or not your goal is to squash the modding community and force players to play the game as you intend, you have a dedicated fan base that is so passionate about the game you have created that they have gone so far as to create their own additional content for it.

I'm not talking about the 'mods' that are blatant cheats or hacks, I'm talking about the mods that add additional characters, stages, music and expanded or overhauled movesets. So much amazing content for the game has been created by passionate fans and using this material with other players online has been an issue because of the seemingly endless cycle of the devs patching online mod use out and then modders finding a way back in.

It can't be that rough to allow people to use mods online on separate multiplayer servers or lobbies that allow modding whilst additionally ensuring that those who do not wish to play with mods can enjoy a protected experience of the native game. If you ask me, it beats having to constantly battle the fans of the online modding community every time they find a way to use mods online once again.

Giving modders and people who enjoy using mods the ability to use mods online in a separate multiplayer environment will encourage many to cease seeking exploits to use mods online, leaving behind a smaller fraction of advantageous cheaters for the developers to deal with on the protected servers and protected lobbies. Sounds like a win-win to me.

While I agree on modders duking it out on a different server is ok, there's one biiiiiig thing EVERYONE agreed on when they started to play the game.

Terms of Service and User Agreement.

Take a guess what that one doesn't allow.

I would host a custom server using my connection. You know they would never do it themselves, but give us the tools to do so.

Sadly I think is one of many quality of life considerations that would be a boon to players that I don't think they even bothered to think about. I wouldn't be surprised if they just heard "cheating is a problem" and slapped EAC on for a quick fix and promptly forgot about it.

What's 'QLOCK'? Are you stupid?

Anyways, thank you for the useless contribution.

Terms of Service are not stagnant. Stances on certain aspects of a game can change and be updated at any time, as they often are. Look at Blizzard: they used to shut down large scale Warcraft III modding projects that used ripped models from World of Warcraft. Now they don't care whether or not we use models from their other games as long as we are not trying to sell our work.

This is already possible. If you want to use mods with friends online but without interfering with multiplayer vanilla, do an eac bypass through your game settings so the game doesnt block your multi-lobby access when it does its check for EAC.

Best part is, EAC still does it's job, and you can happily use mods with friends that also have EAC turned off for the session

Irregardless, Bandai's TOS is pretty clear that Modding is NOT and never was, supported

Anyways, thank you for the useless contribution.

QLOCK is the company in charge of Porting XV2 "and many other titles" from consol to PC, furthermore, devs prefer that you use their content as opposed to other content that could potentially clash with theirs. Asking a Japanese Game development company to support mods and create a whole other server is like trying to catch a Shark with some string and a flimsy stick.
