Hi Bernhard, glad to hear you're enjoying the game! That mission is a tricky one... because we're evil, evil game developers ;-)

First hint: keep fighting! You're up against an almost indestructible fortress that even interferes with the flow of time, so defeat is inevitable... but Quod will send you back in time to try again if you fail.

After that, you may notice some things are... different. Hang in there even if the fight seems hopeless. You've got Quod to back you up, and Commander Grak will do anything to achieve victory, even if it means moving the goal posts.

Spoilers ahead!

Hint 1: You're supposed to lose the first time round.
Hint 2: You're even supposed to lose the second time round! (I did say we're evil...)
Hint 3: The mission is slightly different every time.
Hint 4: You'll receive new orders eventually!

Good luck! If you're still stuck, let us know and we'll give you another hint :)

Really cool to hear you're that far along in the campaign already, by the way! I promise we won't pull nasty tricks like this on you in other missions :)
Hi developer,
thank you, this made my day !

LOL that's good. Gonna stop quitting and keep plugging at the mission then. I knew it seemed a bit odd. I'm stuck on this one too.

Yeah that's something we were worried about. We REALLY liked putting in this one mission to mess with the player, but if people quit back to the main menu, the whole sequence resets and you might never get past it. So we don't mind having a few little hints available here on the forum!
I can not help but notice that the number of hitpoints on the deathray thingie is a finite number. It is mathematically possible for a finite number to reduced to zero, right? What checks are in place to keep this scenario from ever happening?

Try it and find out ;-)

Hint: we can't just give it infinite hitpoints because we want you to think you are winning, but the mission is supposed to ensure your defeat you before you do. However, it IS possible to bring it down to 0 HP.

Every time we tweaked it somebody managed to find a way, so... we put in some code to handle it.
Yea, that happened to me

I had three of them...all gone in one turn
Honestly, I feel like with all the trouble it took for me to destroy the bunker's defences and then the bunker itself, that should have just won the campaign for me.

Or that they should have said "technically a win" rather than "let's pretend that didn't happen", as I hit retry like every other time I failed this mission.

Hey Ekimmak! Have an honorary (but imaginary) "we hereby formally declare you have won the campaign" badge :) And sorry about the confusion, I can see how the wording implies you just lost again... but you didn't! Onwards and upwards! :)
To be honest, I'm at exactly this mission right now. I only play one fight at a time. How am I supposed to win this way? It bad, weird design decisions leading to such a "solution". It not only dictates how I am supposed to play the game, instead of leaving me the choice, it deliberately hides the supposedly correct way of playing like an easter egg to be stumbled upon by accident or random occurence. It doesn't give you the slightest hint. This is so bad that I am currently feeling like never touching the game again, and if I could, I would refund it right now. This is my current mood. Please, for the sake of the players of your future games, do not do this again. You can hide achievements this way, you can hide alternate endings this way, but never ever hide the path to winning a campaign this way.
Also, as a hint to you game designers, in roleplaying (like Pen&Paper D&D), I bet this would cost you your players, they would seek a different DM after such a stunt. Sure, you can take out a character for the sake of the story, but you have to make sure the group gets a real chance to systematically find a way out. Oh my, you can't even imagine how mad I am right now.
