If they made the game more like the show, do you really think people would enjoy it as much? "Welcome to Attack On Titan, Game Over", no... people play for the action, so let them have it. Theres lots of games based on anime, movies, etc, that are altered in different ways so people can enjoy them in a more game-related enviorment, thus why Omega Force was a good choice, allowing us as the player to go out and kick some titan ass!
Eh... in a big map you might kill like... 40? And all during that time you're getting images pop up with characters just saying "DEATH" so it's not exactly Dynasty Warriors.
Not to mention the dead soldiers that fall out of Titans when you kill them.
So I guess it's not that off message after all.
Heh, that's one thing that bothered me about the show actually. Titans don't really have any sort of digestive system so the bodies just sit int here and then get vomitted up eventually. Right at the beginning of the show Eren gets swallowed whole (or at least the titan tried to swallow him whole, he just reached out and got his arm bitten off). Hell, there's even a mangled woman still barely alive inside the titan's belly crying for her mother when he's in there. So obviously Titans don't always mangle their victims. A lot of them are large enough that there's absolutely no need for them to do so. All that being the case, it seems like rescuing people from inside a dead titan would be at least an idea people came up with.. at least for the survey corp who are actually skilled enough to be able to take them down with some consistency.
