Conflict in River Run when pressing both triggers
Don't know if this is an issue for anyone else, but I occasionally have a problem in River Run when I am trying to hover and select several targets or wait on a shield to drop. I will sometimes be holding the right trigger to select targets or wait on a shield to drop and then need to hover. On the bike when you do this it causes the headset (Vive in my instance) to recenter. This is very annoying when it happens. Usually at least once per game. Would be nice if the mapping could be changed to something other than the left trigger to hover.

Yeah, I have had this happen. It can be very disorienting.

Whoa, good catch. That's a design flaw. I will let the devs know and see if they have any ideas on how to address it.

It might help us brainstorm if I can ask: How often do you find yourself using the left trigger/hover functionality in River Run? And would it wreck the experience for you if, for instance, you instead hovered by pedaling backward?
I use quite often during the game. I tend to hover and rise so I can see in the distance and shoot targets from as far away as possible. Pedaling backward would seem to be a little distracting. What about using one of the buttons on the left handle. None of them are being used.

The tricky thing is that the devs are hoping to find a solution that will work on multiple kinds of hardware, including VirZOOM-ready LifeFitness bikes and any bike with VZ Sensor installed, which don't have access to all the extra face buttons. (Even pedaling backward is an imperfect suggestion, as some bikes can't detect backward versus forward.) It's a lot more likely that some functionality would be removed entirely (like, no more ability to hover, or no more ability to recenter with L+R at the same time, at least in River Run) just to avoid accidentally triggering something unintended.

I'm hoping I can instead pitch a compromise that doesn't conflict with the buttons we already have so that we don't lose anything. Pedaling backward is a leading contender right now, but I'm also hoping we can move the recentering functionality to some other control (especially considering that some VirZOOM ready bikes can't register pressing both buttons at the same time anyway). It's a bit of a conundrum!
Not sure why you would really need the feature except when starting or from the main menu.

The recentering feature is important for mobile VR (which gradually drifts because there's no external camera like there is on tethered VR), but also comes in handy if you have to move from where you start your session (e.g., you accidentally pedal so hard you nudge your angle a bit, or you have to move your bike entirely because someone else in your household complains you're in the way!).
In an earlier build you would fast tap L L L L L to recenter, is there any reason you couldn't go back to that? Seemed fine that way before.

You can still do LLLL, actually, but we found it's really hard for most people to pull off. (It has to be exactly four taps, no more and no less, within one second.) I wonder if we could just refine that function somehow so it's not as hard to do.
four taps in 2 seconds.
