For anyone having a black screen at the start or end of the game, read this!

Hi folks,

There's a bug with Unity where certain things won't work if your graphics card is performing its own aspect ratio scaling. So if you see a black screen when the opening video is supposed to be playing, first try disabling that. Here are more details: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/1480982971174752598/

Another thing to try if you see missing movies in the beginning or end of the game: make sure Microsoft Media Foundation is installed, it is required by Unity to play mp4 files. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack

This should only be something you need if you have a Windows "N" version.

Still not working, i set to "no scaling" in nvidia and "override game and program" not changed anything. Tryed two different displays one with native 1920:1200 and second with 1920:1080 resolution. Same crash. I have windows 7 64bit and geforce rtx 2060.
edit: tryed also "-window-mode exclusive" on launcher. it is freezing as before, in processes i see "unity crash handler 64". Also i disabled by firewall and antivirus to test, not helped.

Same issue here, none of the fix suggestions worked.
Could you at least detect issues from your code and display a message, instead of the game just getting stuck? - also, skipping movies might be an option you could provide.

Press K to skip the movies.

Hitting K works... although the movie most likely doesn't play... even in windowed mode, even with VSync.

And I'm on Win7 64 so shouldn't be affected by Win10 update. This is most likely something Unity removed on their own in terms of compatibility.

Also, this is not the only game with the same issue, I noticed Dry Drowning for example, has the same problem (the game worked fine its release and then after a while the same black screen appeared (probably due to some windows/unity update). To this day, I'm not sure how to fix this. Changing aspect ratio in Nvidia panel does obviously nothing since the game is not affected by that when runnning in windowed mode.
