Need functionality to set specific cargo to pick up at stations
I would like to see function to set different cargo to pick up at stations. For example for ships, that I could set at 1st port to pick up iron ore, at 2nd - slug, at 3rd - construction materials.

I think I know what you're asking, and there is a function for it. When you have a vehicle in its depot there's a little plus sign on the bottom right of the vehicle picture, click that and you can set it's cargo. (Works with train cars as well)

I think it would work best as a line filter, so you can set what goods (multiple) can be transported on a line, i.e only allow Line 1 to carry grain and food.

Using 'specific' fittings for vehicles is ok, but that means one half of the journey, the vehicle will always be empty. Mixing cargo options for multiple vehicles on a line also causes issues when it comes to auto-replace, because it only allows you to specify a single cargo type for all vehicles to be replaced on the line.

It has been brought up in beta too.. As things progress in game, something like this becomes more and more essential, since freight will find its own way to places using your lines, even if you didn't intend them to.

Hopefully we will see improvements in this area, down the line.

Soooo, there is no fix for this?

My experience has seemed to show that in a case where you have a simple A>B line that has multiple cargo types that can go on the vehicle that you are using, that the vehicle will pick up the cargo type that has the highest number of items awaiting pickup. Not sure how that helps at all but at least that seems predictable.

I second this whole-heartedly. I need the ability to tell a line to pick up--for example--crude and oil, but not fuel. My oil line has started picking up fuel at the refinery and unloading it at the oil field. Not only is that unhelpful, but it's taking up space that oil for the chemical plant could be buying.

Also, I would love the ability to say at a station "Load Only" or "Unload Only."

If you want unload only you can use passenger stations as a workaround.

I agree, this has made a mess with some of my lines as well. It uses up space I need to keep my industry running and I lose profits on other lines. I would like to see a filter at station level. So you can filter what comes through a station. That way you can have diffrent stations if needed.
This is yet another "function" that should have been in the game from day one, if you have a train wagon that can take multiple different cargoes, such as the goods wagon, then you should able to specify what it can and cannot pick up without comprimising the auto replace function. The same should be said for a station, you should be able to specify what can and cannot be stored/transported from there.
This would allow much more finer detail when making and running cargo lines. As they are now, they are too vague, allowing unneeded cargoes to "slip" through.

you can specify what cargo can be added to the wagons. you can also specify the same cargo at the autoreplace selection. this has been in the game from day one, including in Train Fever.
