BUG: Loud noise won't go away, crew are a burst of white particles
I haven't played this game in awhile, and so when I logged in to see new UI I was very excited to return and finally finish off this game that I really enjoyed.

But on returning to the game there are a series of issues that prevent me from continuing:

1. On load of my old save game a very loud noise is heard, on repeat, and doesn't end. I had thought it was a SFX of my hitting something, but I maneuvered into open water and it persisted. It won't go away.

2. I had thought the noise might be related to a lot of warning messages, because I received an error that I now (possibly with the update?) have too many crew members onboard. There are messages from the crew down in the bottom right corner that won't go away. But even weirder...

3. Opening the ship view, all my crew are just sparkling silver particles and flashing question mark icons. I can't click anyone, or do anything, and I'm just so confused.

Please help!

Old saves are likely not compatible with new version. Start a new game and see if problem goes away.

lol. No, I don't think I will. That's just not acceptable.

I'll move on if there's no hope for a fix. I prefer that.

That's the nature of the game. Nothing the devs will do about it. Too much has changed when it was updatewd to resubmerged. There will not be a fix for it. THe dev(s) have even walked away from the the game for personal reasons and may or not return ( I think he is done with it). The game is so small, starting over is easy. Too bad about all the other bugs that will not be addresed either.

@Challak. Eee that sounds (literally) annoying. How long has it been since you last played? It could be as Blud mentioned if it's been a while. Since Diluvion: Resubmerged was a major content update it basically constitutes a new game. While the extras it provides are substantial, we can imagine it's hard to lose something you invested time into. Hopefully seeing the new content makes up for the inconvenience.

Here's a little more about the new stuff that hopefully inspires you: more strategic depth to looting, managing your unique crew, and upgrading your different submarines to fit player’s needs- and playstyles. Salvaging is more dynamic with hazard battles that require your crew’s abilities and items to overcome. New forging system for customization of your vessel with upgrades for armor, depth range, life support and more. The update also includes enhanced visuals, mappable gamepad controls, new graphics settings, a complete UI overhaul with improved quest tracking and waypoints, the ability to save anywhere, and revamped landmark, navigation and pathfinding systems. Lastly new side quests, artwork and music alongside a number of quality-of-life improvements.
