Airport Madness 3D: Volume 2 - Release Date & Airports Announced!
In case you missed it..There's news from the Newslettery Newsletter!
In response to an overwhelming demand for additional airports, we will be selling a second collection of eight airports on November 22nd..

Our second volume of Airport Madness 3D is designed to compliment the first one, with identical characteristics, but different airports. It is a separate product from the original Airport Madness 3D. In response to an overwhelming demand for additional airports, we are offering eight new airports:

John F Kennedy
Toronto Pearson
Miami
London City
San Francisco
Lukla, Nepal
Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok
Chicago O'Hare

Please note that this is not a free update to the existing volume, and requires purchase. Both volumes of Airport Madness 3D will receive regular updates that will eventually include such features as new aircraft, emergencies, night, and a 'Career Mode' to better track your performance.

Some cracking airports in here! What do you all think about the choices and confirmation of planned features for both volumes?

I was hoping for Amsterdam Airport. Fingers crossed it will be added in the future.

Have hope should a volume 3 be made then. These 8 make up the entire volume and are final.

Volume 2 will likely get another 50 hours minimum out of me anyway. So I'm not complaining.

I just hope they don't all suffer the same thing as Boston though. Despite being the best airport in this first volume, I dialled in way too easily and had the Airport Madness Acheivement for that airport in just under a few hours. I never nail an Airport in Bulding Traffic mode on my first try. But I did in Boston. I actually found it to be the easiest of the 8.

So it's two separate games? That's what is sounds like. Why not just do a DLC map pack instead of creating a separate game?

I'll definitely be buying the new maps, ftr.

Yeah I have to agree I don't understand why you're making this into a separate game.... Why not make it a DLC pack for this game?

Btw, OP, you found this in the newsletter? But I don't see this posted on the Steam forum. This is something they should have posted here as well as a sticky.

Yeah, if it's identical except for the maps, then that means when you want to change maps, you'll have to actually exit the game and restart the other game. That would be a very bizarre development decision.

Maybe they think they can justify a higher price if it's a 'full game' rather than just a DLC map pack, but honestly, games like this are niche games, and you either love them or you don't, imo. So, I think a DLC pack at a reasonable price would be fine (I'm thinking $10, although I guess they could do $15 and then $10 on sale).

The developer is a one man development crew. If you want to keep upto date, Facebook & Twitter are usually best. This information was actually announced back on the 8th September (Nearly 2 weeks ago) so it's actually old news. I only just got it myself today since I don't frequent Social media enough to follow everything.

You have to bare in mind as well. Airport Madness is done in his spare time. He's an actual ATC for a living. So you have to forgive him if he's unable to branch out to every avenue. This game is available on multiple storefronts as well. So amongst the career, the programming, world building etc.. there's so many things to get around to which he may occasionally miss.

This is something the developer toyed with for quite some time. I'm only one of you guys and not affiliated with the dev, so I can't specify the exact reasons and conclusions he came to.

It has been said Volume 2 will come at an additional discount to any launch discount of volume 2 (amount undetermined at this stage) for existing owners of the Airport Madness Franchise. I can't be much more specific on the details of what that will be though.

Even if buying Vol2 would mean that I get tax audited for the next 25 years, I'd buy it, I don't care about the cost or if it's a DLC. More game is a good thing, less game is a bad thing.

My apologies for not saying much lately on this board. I've been working hard to get V2 ready for launch (no, not a V2 Rocket, I mean Airport Madness 3D Volume 2). It's tricky to post screenshots here, so I'll just stick them on my site and give you a link below:

I put out regular newsletters as well:

Here's the list of airports to be added. And yes, there will be a V3. Maybe even a V5. And a military volume. And an Extreme Airports Volume. I'll keep going until Steam tells me to stop!

I'm down for Some German V1 Doodlebug Airport Madness in the Military version. Being in the shoes a tower officer at a Top Secret German Vergeltungswaffe 1 facility launching and landing test flights.

Not entirely sure how the whole launching and landing works though. Unless the V1's a loaded on top Arado Ar 234 Blitz aircraft, then they are launched and we have to bring back the seperate parts seperately.... I dunno, just a crazy idea, I'm sure the mechanics could be worked out.
