Logitech G27 Neutral problems

Does anyone else's Logitech G27 randomly go to Neutral during a race?? I just bought mine and received it a couple weeks ago, so I'm wondering if something is loose inside or if it is a problem that needs to be patched...

All in all I'll just be driving in like 4, 5, or 6th gear and all of a sudden it will go Neutral. At first I thought it was maybe damage to the vehicle, but I noticed that it has happened without me hitting anything. Let me know and thanks!

Well, after years of using mine my second gear will go to neutral if I don't hold it there. After many years users seem to all complain of this issue, or gears switching between themselves with the shifter in the same position. However if your's is new it might be something else. The good news is that you can buy a Fanetic shifter that will work with the g27 which i plan to do in the near future.

Interesting. I have looked at the Fanetic and they are quite nice and quite pricey! Maybe with my new job I'd be able to afford a full Fanetic set in a few years.

I think it may be the game because I have also been playing Grid, Dirt 3, ETS 2 and NFS Undercover and this neutral thing hasn't happened in those games :-\ That might be all the troubleshooting I require to solve this problem.

I love my g27, but the shifters do wear out. Since yours is working in other games, i think you are fine, might be another issue as you indicated. Not sure what could cause that,

don't you guys have trouble with the bumping and/or vibration ? I'm not sure what it is yet but my wheel keeps randomly banging right n left

No dont have that issue at all. Im about to install the logitech drivers again and see if i can get the clutch working, if i see that problem ill let ya know.

Yes I've been having the same issue, but only with GRID 2, not with any other games. I think it's an issue with the game, not the wheel. Sure is annoying... can often cost a race if it happens at the wrong time/

Clutch issue is definetly a bug in the game. If you even attempt to program clutch you cant assign anything at all from that point.

ME as I roll with the Logitech G27 problem is that adjustment to it so a person can give good tuning thank you to all

I got it working. The solution is to do nothing lol. Once you set the controls to "manual + h-shifter+clutch" just leave the clutch unassigned and then it works. But I think I have a new problem, perhaps the sathe as you Reaper - you cannot downshift properly because the window or range that the cltuch is working is incredibly narrow. Need an adjustment for that codies.

I've got a G27 and it is very sensitive with the shifting. You HAVE to do clutch in, shift, clutch out. If you pop the clutch out before you fully engage the next gear it will put it into neutral. Either this is a bug or the person that coded it this way has never driven a race car. Asides from starting from a dead stop you don't actually NEED a clutch to shift...

Nah it's not when I'm switching gears. It's when I'm just crusing in 5th gear on california (for example) and it'll just go into neutral. I'll hear my engine revving unhappily until I get it back into gear. By then I'm screwed for the race haha.

Call Logitech if you can't get it working. You'll be surprised at how understanding they are about warranty issues.

Yes i know exactly what the problem is as i had this happen to me with a G27.

There is some small wires inside the shifter one or more have come disconnected and it is poping out of gear this will continue to degrade untill unusable.

I fixed mine by returning it to theplace of purchase and pointed out that this is a known problem with the g25 /g27 (was suposed to be fixed in the g27 but it still raises its ugly head now and again)

Logitech will not support your device if you didnt buy it from them they will tell you to takeit back to where you purchased it, and no they will not sell you a replacement wire (its a simple problem with a simple fix instead logitech want you to replace the entire unit).


you can verify this by unscrewing the shifter boot and looking inside you will see instantly the disconected wire (too small to solder and will likely break again) note that if it i under warrenty opening it up may void your warrenty so may just be best to get it replaced
