Unable to run Demo

The game always crashes and brings up the steam store when I attempt to run the demo. I am running the game as administrator and I get an error message about unsigned drivers. It seems I am not the only person having problems running the demo. Furthermore, the video on the steam store of the demo does not work. Game Developer, you got a lot of stuff to fix.

Mmm, the game was released more than six years ago, you know... The developers don't even exist anymore.

Anyway, the game and its expansion run perfectly on my PC (Windows 8 64-bit, nvidia GTX 560 Ti). And it's a really good game! A lot of fun and graphics are really nice.

Good point that the Devs no longer exist. From what I understand the game has some nasty DRM built into it and I suspect that is what is keeping it from working properly. If that is the case, I wonder if the folks at Steam would consider removing the game from their store.

Why?? It's not because it doesn't work for you (and it may work after a little troubleshooting) that it doesn't work for everybody.

Seriously. If each time a guy can't run a game a demo of a game, Steam would remove this game from their store, the store would be pretty empty...

yeah removing it would be stupid... I know it works for others... it just seems for Me it doesnt want to... they prolly needed dif stats on the first part than when they did the expansion

there is a legacy drivers physx patch required for this game. especially relevant if you have an Nvidia card, not sure how to disable physx for AMD/Radeon cards, but you might be able to search these forums.

personally, i really like the artwork style, so it's worth it for me. bought both main and expansion of this.

Same issue with the demo. I guess the crapshoot aspect of this game explains the sale. Gonna gamble my three bucks anyway.

Had the same issue as you with the demo. gambled on the full game and it works just fine with no fuss. I didn't have to run administrator or use compatibility mode.

The TAGES DRM was removed. If you purchase the game you will find two TAGES files in the root directory but they don't install. You can delete them if you wish.

I like the game. The demo frustrated me, but the full game is much better.

Make sure you get BOTH Silverfall and Earth Awakening.
Earth Awakening is standalone but it patches Silverfall and gives Silverfall the new UI.
