ABT is not the developer of Repop anymore would be more accurate. IF has started putting out new patches content after they released the last two patches ABT has cooking before they shuttered the game.
The dream still lives!
I was a supporter of ABT and 'The Repopulation' from the start and followed what was happening. I also stayed positive even into the 'Fragmented' stage of the story.
For some reason your version of events seem blurry and rose-tinted when compared to what I remember.
"Blurry and rose tinted" that's a gentle euphemism! Their version of events is at best, ignorant of fact and at worse a flat out lie, legal problems with Repop are not the reason I am never buying anything from these devs again.
Fragmented was given to me under the guise of being the test ground for the game I helped kick start which was being moved to a new engine, which is an outright lie, it was a blatant cash grab and gifted to repop kickstarters to try and keep them quiet about their last crowdfunded game.
Fragmented is a ridiculously poor attempt at a survival game and I totally question the validity of the op.
