How to protect your buildings during Purge?

Cost me a lot of effort to have my house and stuff and I want to protect them if possible. I am about to test the purge and have no clue of how it is, (first time)

Depends on where you build. The map is split into T1, T2 and T3
If you build in a T1 zone, the mobs that spawn can't really do any damage to your buildings.
If you build in a T2 zone, you need to use T2 building materials or they will own your base

If you using T3 building material and build in a T1 zone, you can ignore the purge.

I am in an area between devils squat and trapper's cabin can tell exactly as the game is not showing my bed on the map... another BUG.
Anyway is the "green" forest, steppe mountain's area.
My buildings are made of insulated wood, a little stone and some brick.

In other words.. What tier would be "Insulated wood" buildings? brick ones?

T1 = basic mason
t2 = next mason
t3 = master mason

You should be able to upgrade, highlight over it and it should replace it. I usually do a basic build in sandstone then replace with the higher tier stuff

Ok and.. how to protect the buildings? can I make a fence or wall around it? Or I must replace each block?

What about the wood spikes? are useless in this area?=
