Activating The Purge on Singleplayer
Hello
I see a lot of people in the forums that seem to have problems activating The Purge.

Set your last 2 options in the purge settings to

Purge meter trigger value = 0
Purge meter update frequency = 120

i changed to these settings and got purges verry frequently
this helped me
I hope this helps you

If for some reason this doesn’t work for you I’m sorry I’m still testing theories feel free to use this info in hopes it helps you in your testing or you can just wait till Funcom finds a way to patch it.
WELL .. Lets Just Say .. I'm level 61 and play 5-8 hours a day on the average .. AND I have Not had a purge yet .. Playing SP
The meter goes over the mark for purge and 3/4 of the way up .. but just doesn't happen AND I'm not staying up all night for it.

Pretty sure my game is bugged and I might just try those setting .. Thanks
I've had purges happen with these settings, in singleplayer while not in a clan.

Purge level = 2
Purges per day = 24
Purge prep = 2 minutes
Purge duration = 20 minutes
Number of online player = 0
Allow building = No
Purge meter trigger value = 1,000
Purge meter update frequency = 10

I assumed the lower the update frequency the quicker the updates. I heard a few weeks ago that the purges default update frequency was changed to 15 minutes which is why it starts at 15 now. Isn't the frequency number in minutes? A lot of the tooltips are misleading when they explain what the sliders do and can be taken either way. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong as I want to make purges happen as often as possible.

Until someone can modify the % chance of a purge happening when above or at the purge line we'll just be at the mercy of whatever system that is in place which determines when a purge should happen.
...or you can just make yourself admin in the server settings and initiate a purge using "startplayerpurge" from the command line (the ~ key) ...it'll use whatever settings you have made to difficulty and timing. You can then do as many (or as little) as you want, because I don't think the devs have gotten it working right on SP/COOP yet.
ONE Problem with .. Make a CLAN .. after building 2 base ALREADY and mid-game ........ YOUR Bases will Attach you .. all the existing thralls will try and KILL you .. Maybe at the beginning of the game good thought ... But not a already running game.
Just a heads up and I left my Clan like a rabbit in heat ... LOL ..
But all good and Thanks ... the Old Gamer .. :steamhappy:

Oh crap!! I forgot about that sorry when i test things out its usuly at the start of a new game so at that time i dont have any thralls. lol
but that sliped my mind thanks for reminding me ill edit it in.:steamhappy:
Finally got a Purge .. BUT had to use " ~ " key to start it and what a waste of time as far as I'm concern.
I will say if you don't want purge attacks .. BUILD on one of the many islands in the Game that you have to swim to and purge army Can not get to you ... I had to go to them .. They can't open door ways on bridges if you install them.

What are your server settings for the Purge set to?

Also, if your white bar for your purge meter isn't moving, using ~ to fill then empty the purge meter will often get the purge meter to become unstuck.

Purge level = 4
Purges per day = 1
Purge prep = 10 minutes
Purge duration = 30 minutes
Number of online player = 1
Allow building = No
Purge meter trigger value = 1,000
Purge meter update frequency = 10

But have tried many setting to get it to go ... Until today (finally using ~ startplayerpurge) .. the bar would only fill 3/4 of the way.
But like I said .. I had to go and open the doors for them on the bridge .. seems they can not open doors or swim.
I'm thinking of Starting a New Game .. even after doing all that building .. But this time go straight for the East - Jungle side of map .. since I know how to get there and doing a build like the one I just did in that area posted on your site, again. That is a perfect island spot.
Well they fixed the purge state resetting on log out... it just normally takes a while for single player to activate it as it's one person scaling up the anger

If you set the last 2 numbers to something low, like really low, you can get it to trigger practically every 3 seconds if you wanted it to.
just to give perspective.... i had trouble making the purge activate and i was doing a coal run near relic hunter town when i decided to make a mini-base to drop off stuff in boxes so i have a supply pickup on demand.... sure enough when i started placing foundations i triggered the purge.... so i think it may be a good idea to just place mini spots all over the map to have a chance to see them pop.... also its a good idea as well just because it may lessen the chances to hit your main base(its random so it still could but the more bases the better)
First, you absolutely do not need to make a clan in SP to get purges. I get them frequently and have never made a clan. Only time I had to use an admin command was in the middle of a purge and it wouldn't move to the next wave and I couldn't find a stuck attacker anywhere... stupid Nordheimer was probably inside a foundation and when they get stuck like that they stop attacking and making noise.

Nor is it a matter of having certain settings set certain ways. Yes, it is far more useful to set the trigger value lower and definitely useful to have the update frequency set lower, not higher. The purge meter does not reset on log out, it never did. What happens is that it has to hit the update timer value before it registers a value when you first log in... which is why it always looks like it's reset when you first log in. The purge isn't broken, it just has one big, unstated need... see below.

This isn't a matter of starting little foundation plots all over. It's the perfect illustration of what I have observed with every purge in my SP game though. Once that bar goes past the trigger mark, to get the purge to actually trigger, you need to go away from all of your bases for a little bit. When you come back to one of them, the purge will typically trigger on the next update. By being out on a coal run, then dropping new foundations down, you accomplished the same thing, just in an unprepared location. What it basically means though is that you actually can time when and where you want the purge to happen.

Nor have I ever seen it be random, the purge has always triggered at whatever base I'm at, and I've seen others with multiple outpost locations post the same thing.

I got purged 3 times at the other side of the map while managing stuff in a base that was NOT targeted by the purge. For me, it's random...
Only 1 time i got purged at the base my char was, so that makes 1 time out of 4.

Like I said, that's been my experience and I've seen others post the same, doesn't necessarily mean it's fact. I know MP people have said it's random too. So, I guess the next question would be, are you playing SP on a dedicated server or just local? That could make a difference too, I dunno, we gotta gather more info.
