Report a translation problem
There are limits as to how far you can build away from walls and or foundations. you can use a Repair Hammer to check the integrity of the panels aroung the hole.

With how I was designing my base, once I added beams to support the upper floors, I was able to fill in the rest as I hoped. XD
I'm not used to playing games that take that stuff into consideration, I like it. :D Makes me have to plan a bit more when building.
