Thanks for mentioning this issue.
I did not know of such a feature in the Xbox One controller, and unsurpirsingly, the tool used to manage gamepads is not handling as it does not support hot plug / unplug
I will investigate it and try to find a fix. In the meantime, could you please send me the game logs of a game session when this issue occurs ? this could help me find a workaround.

Where are the logs located, and how do I know which ones are the correct ones?

Beware the logs are resetted at each game sessions.
about half of the games on steam manage to reconnect the controller when it powers back up, but the other half surprisingly do not handle it correctly... reconnecting is done with console game systems, so I am not sure why the PC controller libraries do not handle this better..
hope you will consider this for your next game release!
Hopefully that'll be enough to prevent unwanted disconnect to force the player to exit the game.
