HL2.Exe Stop working

My TF2 always freeze when i start to play on a server for 5 minutes or when someone joins the server and i never had alot of crashing since last Friday Update, i already tried to verify local cache and my steam still saying that im playing TF2. i though yesterday Update fixed it or just i need to Reinstall it.. :/

Yeah, i've been having the same problem, as have other players. I've noticed that when I reboot the game after a crash (sometimes I have to reboot it several times), I lose connection with the item server, but the game stops crashing. I don't know if it will work for you because no one else seems to have the same wierd connection with the item server, but if you're down to play with only default weapons, give it a shot.

i will just try to reinstall it, if that doesn't work too, i will just wait until Valve fixes this update.

Hope Valve knows of this. All week I've done everything to fix it but as far as I can tell the crash occurs when people join.

It sucks, because its Thanksgiving break and this is my life lol
Same problem here. What i've noticed is that it stoppes working when someone joins the server you are on.

I have exactly this same situation, and I'm happy to know that others have it too because then it means is not something wrong with my PC. It works perfectly fine when the connection with the item server is down, but being Medic main I need to change to Kritz every now and then so it's really stressing.

Well i fixed the Crash problem, i reinstalled it and used the command "-autoconfig" that made my TF2 Client Directx9. the weird thing it only crashes if your client is Directx8.1. It's quite laggy at Directx9 since my PC is garbage :/
