Salvaged Crate #40

I recently got a salvaged crate and I was wondering. Should I unbox it? Should I sell it as it is? Should I wait till they stop dropping? Which is the most profitable?

theyre dropping prices. I did the right thing by selling it when it was still good about 10keys.

Are you sure about that? I heard that they're discontinuing them and that the price is gonna shoot up once that happens.

I've had a few and managed to get decent items with them like a Bill's Hat and SF sandvich. Key wise they don't bring in too much. Some items are worth a fair bit like the strange gunslinger and huntsman can be worth much much more than the crate. But you might get strange Man Treads which aren't worth very much at all.

I say wait until it stops dropping. The price will shoot up when that happens.

backpack.tf says crate 40 is currently worth 6 to 6.5 keys. Not really that much if you ask me.

Only time will tell if the price goes up. The difference between rarity of crate 30 and crate 40 is that crate 30 has 3,992 copies of the item in existence while crate 40 has 23,091 copies (and growing) of it. (Source of those numbers is http://stats.tf ) So crate 40 won't ever be as rare.

Again, just wait. As with the original hats and dirty items, there'll be a HUGE price spike where you'll probably be able to sell it in upwards of 12 keys when they stop dropping.

Crate 40 will not rise any time soon. sorry to burst your bubble. There is plenty and prices revolve around supply and demand. I see 30 going up in a year or so because they are very limited atm.

They will rise..just not anytime soon from what i've seen on trading websites. I would personally just sell it. Unless you really need a certain strange inside and want to take a risk opening it.

It'll rise, just very slowly compared to the previous salvaged crate, people are wondering when 50 will be out.
