How to Fix: TF2 crashes when taking screenshots

2/12: How to Fix (Thank you,Snowy Ninja!)

1.Go to Help->About Steam and make sure that "Build" section is Jan 25 or later.
2.If it's not, then go to Steam->Settings And opt into the beta testings (the client update opted you out of the testings).
3.After that Steam should automatically update itself and the issue should be fixed.

From 1/24,
Team Fortress 2 crashes if take a screenshot during the match.

For example,
1) Take a screenshot of the BackPack → Doesn't crash
2) Take a screenshot of the Scoreboard → Crash
3) Take a screenshot of the BackPack during the match → Crash

Please comment if you are same symptoms.
Also, please let me know if there is a solution.

This happens to me too, and its really anoying, because i forget it all the time and take a screenshot, and my game crashes.

It only happens when you're on a server.
Waiting for a fix is the only solution.

Same thing. And that's quite a shame - I see so many bugs or awesome ragdolls, but can't screenshot them.

It happened to me about a week ago and I swear I saw something the next day about an update to to fix it. I guess not.

i'm getting this. very serious bug, especially since most people tend to take screenshots when awesome things are happening.

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling tf2 then "verify integrity of cache" afterwards?

I've done it twice.

Probaly need to wait for a official fix. In the meantime you can always download a third party snapshot taker. I'm sure many exist that will work with any ingame images.
