Screen turns randomly white [Linux]
When playing the screen turns rundamly white and only overlay stuff stays visible. Also sometimes it gives those disco effects but turns white again. After some time it randomly turns to normal again, when in killcam mode it disappears always, but once the kill came finishes it turns on again.
my ingame settings:

ubuntu 12.10 64bit
Radeon HD 6950, Catalyst 13.4

I didn't have the problem with the 13.3 beta drivers but I haven't played the game for some time so I'm not sure if it was a game update or the driver update that introduced the problem.

it's a driver problem

I use lubuntu 12.04.3 LTS 64bit and I had that problem with the newest driver, and the game occassionally shutdown itself like after 3 map loads.
Further more some all drivers newer than catalyst 12.11 beta(not sure which one, not 11 and 8) lags the game when steam overlay is used.
My solution to all that is to purge the newest driver, then install catalyst 12.11 beta.
For my 5770, 12.10.17 actually had less fps comparing to the newer ones, however, I constantly get 85 to 180 fps in 24 player servers with valve maps, so meh, 12.11 beta works for me and I'm staying for the moment.

btw it not sure about ubuntu 12.10, here in 12.04 jockey, the last listed beta driver is 12.11 beta

except 12.11 beta11 and 8, 12.8 stable and all 12.11 betas should work without porblems
like we are digging drivers back from 2012 :/
good job ati, destroying the drivers :/

edit: recommend 12.8, since errors reported for 12.10 and 12.11 beta for wierd idle ram clock, but 12.8 does not come with quantal packages *face palm*
hope that the release of steam OS will fix all these crap
