Steampipe - Faster Loadtimes! More Stable game! Smoother play! Higher FPS!
Except... nope.

None of these things except a slightly higher FPS; which means nothing when the game keeps stuttering...

So what was the point of a giant update that doesn't load maps any quicker and isn't smoother at all... ?

How old is your PC? I noticed the speed increase right away. It use to take me about 30 seconds to load into a server now it takes me less then 5 seconds. I was so shocked by this that i joined 6-7 random servers I've never been to before and I got in each of then in right around 5 seconds from the time I clicked on it.

I recommend validating files to rull out something is missing and that is causing your stuff to load slowly.

Works for me too - for one, it doesn't take an ungodly amount of time for tf2 to even load up. Or close. Plus load times are much quicker. :D

My tf2 loads in 10 a 15 sec. And joining a server is now much faster.

MY tf2 just rubber bands everywhere and I can't play anymore. THanks valve. Thanks.

*sigh* I am enjoying the including of steampipe into TF2 because my game loads in -5 seconds and my load times is 6 seconds tops, but I can't get over the fact that custom HUDs can no longer be installed

I couldn't believe how fast TF2 loaded up. That was one heck of a great job, VALVe.

Well just from these few comments people have very different results... I'm getting some rubberbanding that makes the higher fps pointless.. i'd rather have a smooth game... I've validated and I've reinstalled the game completly because i had a missing file after the update that wouldn't let me play it at all to start with.. so a full reinstall is what I've done and it plays a little worse than it used to... not particularly faster loading... higher fps yes.. but no longer smooth.. that's my experience....

Yes you can instal custom huds read the steampipe FAQ -.-
