Team Fortress 2

Any old school QWTF clanners here? (IGL,1998)
Anyone around from the good ol' days of MIRV grenades and nailbombs? Back when clans like Fifth Element and Gothic Terror reigned supreme? Any of you dorks from I'm 12 or Clan In A Box still demo spamming the sniper deck?

Just checkin.

I got into TFC since QTF became pretty damn vacant in ezQuake after a while. I have seen a few players, but they haven't touched it in years. I do see more players from former QWTF clans in TFC and even Fortress Forever, though...

Yeah, as I recall things died off pretty quickly after the Quakeworld source code was released. Wall hacks and other cheating kind of killed the community.

Hey, you posted my videos! Sweet! I've got a few more coming out these days since Ragnarok of AM and FOLD was nice enough to send me some QWD files this week!

I remember FOLD! AM? Who was that?

Anyone remember NULL? Dark Legacy? The Taken?

Tickenest 18. feb. 2014 kl. 15:40
AM = Aftermath. They were pretty much the successor clan to Iron Curtain (IC). I don't have any demo footage of NULL though I do remember them. Dark Legacy I don't remember...you're not thinking of Dark Vengeance, are you? And The Taken...nope, can't say I remember them.

The IGL is defunct. It was really big in the late 90's, was the first "international" clan competition of any FPS, then kind of faded away. The site is still up, I think, but hasn't been updated in ages.

I remember the most dominating teams of that era. Gothic Terror and Fifth Element. They seemed to destroy everyone at the time. There we're other clans that were just really cool, like Clan In A Box and I'm 12, and some clans that never made it to the IGL like OSKI.

Those were the days...

Yes, I am still around. I mostly play CS:GO now. I dabble in TF2 a little but it seems too kiddified for my long term tastes. Does not seem or feel like a 'serious' gamers game. Tick, we used to be in the same clan [FA]! Remember Ravin and SK from FA? I have them on my facebook friends list. Would love to add you. I will add you on steam as well! :) Yes, I used to play engineer most of the time, in fact 100%. I was in -e- and in -eg-! The elite Engineer guild! :)

I was LusT4DetH from Angelic Demise and later Clockwork Asylum, I mostly played Demo. We played against Gothic Terror and Fifth Element and lots of other clans. We played Avalanche for the Dragon<something> league finals. We knew GT quite a bit since one of our members used to be in GT (Fanuc|GT). About half of our clan were RL friends who worked at an early ISP back in the 90s, so we had a T1 and the benefit of 5-6 out of an 8 man squad playing in the same room, which was a huge advantage back then (there was no vent/ts/skype). A few of us would play Rocket Arena all day at work against each other just waiting for other kids to get home from work/school and the TF matches to start. We also ran one of the TF servers with maps I remember were 2fort4, 2fort5, 2Tech3, 2Tech4, Well6, Rock, Rock2, Havoc6 (HAVOC TIME!) and a few others. At the time, I think Anfernee was the dominant sniper of the day and GT or OSKI was probably top clan. A few of our members went on to join some of the clans listed above, Psycho joined GT and ReplicanT landed in DV then IC at somepoint, thats probably closer to the times you guys are talking about. I think Q3 was pretty much the end, and at some point Robin and the TF guys got hired by Valve which became the early hope for the eight years later TF2.

The quake guys faces scared me when I was a kid, so I didn't play too much of Quake or TF. But at least I can say I legitimately tried it back then.
