Team Fortress 2
Is there a place to find out the relative value of items?
I have no clue how much, if anything, my TF2 inventory is worth, since none of it is marketable...

For items that which are constantly being traded in quantity, you could perhaps check backpack.tf. It's not so much an absolute value, but a guide along the lines of knowing roughly what an item tends to trade around.

For ordinary weapons (non-strange, non-promotional, no special qualities of any kind, etc -- just a common drop) -- you should generally not expect more than a scrap (justifiable if somebody is looking for that specific weapon) or a 1:1 trade (perfectly ordinary common weapon for perfectly ordinary common weapon).

To add on to what he said, the rarity of a cosmetic defines the value of it. This means that items which don't drop anymore are in high demand, and sell for high prices.

Of course, if the hat looks really good, people wouldn't mind paying more.
