You buy a tour-of-duty ticket to get the SPECIAL (rarer) MVM items.

Playing on the free (community) servers via Boot Camp uses the normal TF2 drop-system.

He was asking if playing MvM gets you items. The free version does not give you any items.

To the best of my knowledge Boot Camp uses the standard TF2 drop system; so if you're not at your drop cap you'll get regular items at the same rate as you would playing PVP.

Buy one for a dollar, or you can get them in trades for 3 Refined. Also note it only uses your ticket up after you win a round, so don't be scared of trial and error.
