just about any soldier rocket launcher if you want easy mode. Whenever the other team is good and my team starts losing really bad, i will sometimes pull out my cow mangler (imo the best killing weapon in the game). otherwise I dont use soldier he is too easy.

a strange professional killsteak phlogistinator would be epic. Although it has no airblast, the crits would make getting that killsteak alot easier than with a degreaser or airblasting alot until one random rocket hits an enemy with the other flamethrowers. Cool looking eye effects aside, the shotgun is one of the best weapons for medium to close range combat, right alongside the scattergun.

There is no "best weapon", which is why TF2 is such a fun FPS. Unlike stuff like COD, BF, Planetside 2, etc. where there are guns that you will never use once you unlock better versions, all the unlockable weapons in TF2 are meant as "sidegrades". Yeah, the Frontier Justice does revenge crits, but it has a smaller slip than the stock shotgun. Sure, you can use the Dead Ringer, but then you can't cloak at will.

The only weapons that are objectively upgrades (and this might have changed since the last time I used some of them) are the Third Degree and the Solemn Vow.
