Does anyone else think that...
..the engineer needs new sentry types?

Just as long as it isn't as annoying as minis. They're weak and easy to destroy, but pop up quicker than immigrants just when you think you've taken care of the problem.
I think engineers should be immune to enemy sentrys.

I don't think they need sentrys at all. They ruin the game when 3 engies just set up outside spawn

Like i replied to a comment (fire and plasma dr.grorbort style), and maybe a portal turret sentry (because why not), a catapult sentry (for medieval) and.. don't really know what else to throw in
i agree that that the engineer should have a new sentry type.

+ Fires lasers that cause afterburns on target
+ Unlimited ammo reserve
+ Reflected lasers cause 80% less damage to the building
- Decreased firing speed
- Slower projectile speed (in comparison to rockets & bullets)
- Cannot be upgraded past Level 2
- Reflected lasers still harm players

Just an idea, not sure how balanced this would actually be.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really see how any of those sentry types could work.

Fire Sentry seems the most feasible, but I'd imagine it'd have to be short range only...right? In which case you'd have to make the damage output high, but sentries already have pretty high damage output at short range. Not sure about this one.

A Portal Sentry? How in the world would that even work lol
One of the reasons why Valve has neglected to add new sentries since Gunslinger is because how it can really screw with the Meta. A Lot of Scouts and Pyros Cried when Gunslinger came out.

New Sentries Would be nice, but think of what it can do to gameplay in a whole.

A fire sentry would most likely be a mini-sentry flamethrower. Basically it's only good to ambush, and people won't go mad compared to the mini-sentry sniping them. I don't see it working out as a normal sentry unless the flames gets upgraded with it.. like level 1 is a weak flamethrower, level 2 is two flamethrowers, and level 3 is the same but with a flare launcher.

What i mean is a portal-themed one, basically a portal turret as a sentry.. I think it would most likely be a mini-sentry type that can only shoot in front of it, just like in portal
