Nope, it's the window maker
HL3 confirmed
Any German speaker would say that about a German word. English speakers however instinctively pronounce written words in different way than the German. The point of phonetic transliteration here is to guide people pronouncing words more as they are intended in their original language.
2) The transliteration is accurate for any English speaker. Feel free to suggest something else but I suspect you don't know either English pronunciation or the concept of transliteration well enough to comment on the topic.
After a chat we both came to the point that there is no 100% correct solution for writing down the German pronounciation. The solution above might be the best even though it's not really 100% correct. Just for those who are confused about the deleted messages above.
Short hand lazy-butt Americans (such as myself) prefer to pronounce it Le-trangsh-ey, but if you were doing French commentary or are a weird person who prefers to do it that way that's the correct way.
No notes about L'Inspecteur hat (Lohn-spek-tur) or Medimedes (Meh-DI-mead-is)
Hats make me feel like an idiot...
Took me a long time to realize the Dashin Hashasshin (or whatever) rhymed with Assassin.
I assumed Hashashin was some sort of 13th-century hood or something...
