Why do non-traders hate traders so much?
I've noticed that when people talk about hats or trading (especially unusual trading), a lot of people like to say "omg stop trading just play the freakin' game." Their excuse is that TF2 is an fps and cannot be played in a way that is not direct gameplay (normal games, competitive, friendlies, alternate games like saxton hale.) I trade as much as I play in actual servers. I think that trading is very fun and valve would not have added it if they thought it would mess up the fanbase. So my question is: why do traders get so much hate just because they enjoy the game in a different way?

Because the poor and irish are just jealous.

because people are stupid, they think that trading "ruined the game" although it's probably one of the reasons it's still alive.

Well, I somewhat exaggerated that. But what's wrong with trading?

This. You're taking up a player slot and a player who isn't contributing is actually worse than having no player at all, because autobalance only counts players regardless of whether they're basically idle or not.

When I say trading, I mean stuff like trade servers or tf2outpost. Sorry if it sounding confusing.

I'm an Unusual trader and I hate trading. But I love items.

They might get tricked or something.

I think most of the hate is towards bible.tf backpack.tf

I hate traders ONLY if they're in random games outside of trade servers, spamming "Hey, I am buying unusuals, trade me!" 50 times. Or if they randomly send me trade requests, causing a distraction.

Many won't take their own advice and just play, meaning it comes from envy and greed.

That being said, people who trade in pvp servers, you know..the little jerks who sit in spawn trying to shark every person the server one by one...they need to be banned.

Because trading sometimes brings the worst out of people seeking to get a good deal like penny pinchers.
  • Scamming
  • Begging
  • Phishing
  • Spamming/Chat Binding "SELLING ♥♥♥♥, BUYING ♥♥♥♥, PRICE IS FIRM, TRADE ME!!11!1!"
  • F2Ps who don't know how to trade, yet visit trade servers anyway
  • Unusual market is all messed up

Among other things. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of nice friendly traders, but when you see trade threads on a non-trading subforum, when there is a forum dedicated tor trading, with the only sticky thread in the main forum specifically saying "NO TRADING" and redirecting you to the forum DEDICATED TO TRADING, and yet people STILL TRADE HERE.....it kind of gets on your nerves.

thats why you go spectator and or ask if they want to trade after the game/match is over. Well at least thats what i do.

But many of them don't. And they aren't serious when they're in the server. Thus they're a giant handicap to a team.

Also, traders make TF2's population look less rational than compulsive women shoppers who already have 500 pairs of shoes but keep buying them.

At least shoes have utility. Fake stuff in a fake world that changes nothing is not rational to be so obessessed about.
