Why doesn't Valve bring TF2 to consoles?

But Valve has Portal and Left 4 Dead on consoles, why not TF2? and the Steam machine and having a port to consoles are different, right?

Not saying it isn't, just that Valve has other games for consoles, so why not TF2?

To be blunt, the dev team are too small to support multiple ports.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 ports were released and abandoned months into their existance; the console players were left with a TF2 version from 2007.

How are 6 people supposed to transfer hats, unusuals, crates, buying keys, MVM, trading, and regular updates onto consoles in a reasonable amount of time? Impossible, it'll take literal years.

And TF2 is nearly 10 years old. It makes no business sense to mass-support an old game onto a current-gen console when the playerbase is microscopic compared to a game like Overwatch. OW would outright crush Xbox 1 TF2 into obscurity almost immediatly.

And we're already complaining how the devs are slow to update the game on PC alone, imagine the wait times for consoles. You'll be growing toenails faster than a patch update.

It's simply wasted effort. You may disagree, but tell that to the Xbox and PS3 TF2 players; or the lack thereof.

Never played the console version, but i'd think playing tf2 with a controller would feel weird
