Experimental Build 1.3.2.0
With another project being actively developed, it's not possible for me to spend a lot of time on Unending Galaxy. However, due to popular demand and because it's still my first passion project, I decided to allocate some time to the game in order to fix the few remaining issues and clean up the code a bit.

Understand that this is an experimental build, I do not have the time to let the game run for days on my computer to check if every change I made is working as expected.

Read This (yes, really)

Due to the particular nature of the main changes in this version (newer memory manager and compiler), I cannot predict how well it will run for you. In theory, it should be more stable and fix some graphical glitches / incompatibilities, but it's not something I can be certain of until it has been tested by players.

If there's no complaints about this specific version, and pending any additional changes, it will become official in a few weeks.

While I cannot hunt for all the bugs reports that have been thrown my way (over 2 forums, private messages, emails, article comments and so on), if you have a particular point you'd want me to check, please post in this topic and be precise. Same goes if you really want small and specific improvements.

Due to multiple factors (language and libraries being very old. the code itself had its optimization pass, making new changes more difficult to implement without breaking anything. etc.) i cannot promise I'll implement some (or any) of the requests. I will, however, consider them all.

Do not bother asking about sound/music problems, it's out of my reach for reasons that have been explained in the related threads.

How to install the experimental version

Simple and painless:
1. Right click Unending Galaxy in your library
2. Select Properties
3. In the new window, click on the BETAS tab.
4. In the drop-down menu, select experimental
5. Wait for steam to update the game

It should then be ready to play. To roll back, do the same, but in the drop-down menu select NONE instead. Both versions are save-game and mod compatible with each other.

Current Changelog

Improvements
+ Dock traders will avoid suppliers in sectors that are under siege

Technical
+ New memory manager: might lead to a more stable experience during long gaming sessions
+ Newer compiler: might have fixed a few technical problems
+ Minor code improvements

Bug Fixes
+ Added possible fix for the rare bug causing the game window to "eat" part of the screen (settings / graphics / resolution fix)
+ Fixed: Ceridan special event could target pirate systems when better, empty, systems are available
+ Fixed: Some trading and mining ships would ignore the "NoForeign" faction law

I can't build with builders! I select the factory type I want, but it takes my money and doesn't start construction. I made sure that there was room, etc. and the buy button was available.

I loaded the experimental version, and it didn't fix it!

Nevermind. I clicked a spot too far away from the ship! lol

Early report, no new bugs encountered, have noticed a substantial increase in the games running speed and overall stability, saves are quicker to save and load and generally its running about 40-50% smoother than before, so the small memory fixes seems to have worked ( this is on a large 1780 system map as well)

Don't manually fly your own builder. just give it order, it will go to wherever you clicked and start building. Giving it other orders while it's in transit or building will cancel and refund your money.

That said, I probably need to check what happens when you're flying the builder manually, and maybe add some warning / info to dispel possible confusion.

Please, consider using the "edit post" button in the future. Thank you.
