Did reinstalling/restarting the game help? I'm gonna assume no.

What's your distro and audio setup?
Try setting the launch options (right click the game in the library→ properties → set launch options) to
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
Does that help?

Can you try and load the game on windowed? Generally from the people that answered my topic, they seem to say that it's probably a framedrop issue, so try and run the game just by itself.

I can confirm the problem in Linux Mint 19.2 too. Unfortunately I had to run it through Proton where it works correct.

I'm on Fedora 31, 64 bit. After some tinkering, I think I fixed the sound issue by installing Adventure Game Studio (sudo dnf install ags) and then running the game. Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce the bug, it still works even after I tried removing AGS and re-installing the game :steamsad:
