my entry: https://sketchfab.com/models/8ed0ea99158e4738bf2390dad1d30fe7
28 photographs with no masking but i might do another 3dscan later of the same statue
its my attempt to create a 3d scene of the first game ive ever played when i was a kid, Frogger.
(the game where you were a little frog trying to cross the road while trying not to get hit by cars and jump on logs etc to get to the other side. :p )
81 (were 82 but one was blurry so didnt get accepted) camera's and the 3d model is generated with the ultra settings. sadly the photos were taken with a phone camera so the quality isnt the best. will try to improve it but ye... tought i might aswell upload this one now. its actualy the 3rd attempt. first one came out all deformed and wierd. second one was nice but only 2d ish, as you could only view it from one side. this one is the 3d attempt. vissible from all sides but the quality sadly isnt much improved. so ye... thats that i gues.... hope you guys like it. and good luck with the contest to all. :)
@blad nice yoshi :3
@paleo great creativity! If you want to send me the photos i can give you some hints on how to take a better dataset!
@MLGBase sure you can, if the photographer is happy with it! We'd prefer you make something new, but we're not against it :)
I also did 2 other lower quality/time models here : https://skfb.ly/LwMF and here https://skfb.ly/LwNV
You can also use masquerade to remove the background. I think that in this case you should use 2D masks only during the dense point cloud / mesh creation and keep the full photos during the orientation phase (check the 'ignore masking during structure from motion'). Masking the 2d images will certainly give you the best results, but it requires some manual effort. Alternatively, you can also remove the sky directly on the point cloud. There's a points selection tool based on color that might be handy in this kind of situations.
i give up on that task, i made 4 times 50 fotos of a sculpture with a smartphone and all the time the program recognizes only 5-7 fotos from front.
Sculpture was on a round table with white paper under it and around the sculpture i made a white paper cover , that you see only ther white background but it didn't help, i was going around the table and was making fotos, but in trial program only the front pictures were recognized.
Tired of this, sorry.
