I like the idea of EAC. It should narrow down the amount of issues devs need to deal with. Now, they can focus on their own engine's limits, and patch up holes like texture sizes, amount of bones and polygons going over the limit.
At the very least, the game will become much safer, and will finally get a protection from people evading the game's rules, like evading kicks/bans and stalking other players through means of cheating/hacking.
Well, guess what. You don't even need such mods, when you can fix the real issue behind crashers - their ability to avoid the game's limits. Now, since those limits are literally enforced, you can just focus on patching up what issues are left.
There was literally no point "fixing" crashers since no matter what you'll do, they could avoid them using altered clients.
Well, it'll take few months before they'll polish the rest of the things up. Don't forget to report the crashers.
Imagine defending a bad decision, crazy. When has anticheat ever worked on a free to play platform? If I can make unlimited free accounts it only punishes players who are trying to play the game the way they like; If I'm a troll who want's to cause chaos to get my rocks off I'll make 1000+ accounts with a script and ignore steam and VRC rules. Triple chromosome decision by the devs.
We need to see how exactly that AC is going to show itself "in the real world". If it allows for automatic decisions - you wouldn't even need the report system to report cheaters by that point. Not only that, but have you forgot that you have to level up your account before you can upload your crasher avatars? Even if you create 1000+ accounts, all of them end up being banned, automatically.
As I said, AC is not about blocking EVERY attempt to cheat. It is there to make cheaters jump hoops.
You have never used them and have no idea what you where missing out on. So you have ZERO say in this conversation. Go sit in the corner, face the wall, and wear the dunce hat.
There where many features that all of a sudden VRC is now suddenly putting in. You can thank the modders for all those features the VRC stole from them. It's great that you enjoyed plain vanilla. There are plenty of boring vanilla people out there but there was also a huge group that had needs that werent being met by VRC and there werent really any other good options either.
I am glad to see VRC add these options period but they broke the game for others as myself where it wasnt broken before the update so there is that. 2 weeks after the update and I still cant join any world in VRC that has a live stream from stwitch without crashing to desktop where this wasnt an issue before and I know I'm not the only one. So yes. We do have a say to express what we wanted. We all do. Including you. The inly sad part is that the EAC component does ZERO for any security in VRC. Stolen accounts where from actual clients specifically designed to overcome EAC and VRC restrictions and those will continue. Anyway. At this point other then my initial saltiness I have not hate towards anyone. I just think a lot of vanilla users are ignorant of the real uses of those mods. There will always be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and there will always be a way for them to ruin everyones fun regardless of EAC or VRC restictions.
Cheers everyone and feel free to get out of the corner as I want that hat back.
doesn't even take one hour to know that's going to happen, vrchat's still got 20k people playing and that's not including quest users
Lack of hours in all games(and there being mostly F2P games) also points out at a throw-away account.
Anyone with a throw-away account is mostly not worth it discussing anything with. He can spam you down with little to no repercussions.
