printf("♥♥♥♥ you Linux players !");
Sorry, but there is no Linux version planned yet :/.
Well that's odd because it clearly states there would be a Linux version,it also very sneaky how you mention no DRM for Desura or Gog but fail to mention steam, seems to me a premeditated act to me.
"We are currently creating a version of 2Dark forPC, Mac and Linux. We may also create a version for console or tablet, but we can't make any promises about that right now."
So next time you wanna hood wink your backers, well actually thinking about it you would get bugger all next time around anyway the internet never forgets I cite No Mans Sky as an example of that.
With all due respect, your funding specifically said there would be a Linux version:
From here: https://www.ulule.com/2dark/
Can we get a reply as to why you're now saying it's not planned?
Looks like a developer to add to the "enemies of Freedom" list.
why? as you promised!
Such changes should be announced as early as decision was made with a refund option to all the backers.
I simply don't understand PR logic behind these words:
You could just say "we're working on it and planning to release it when GOG and Desura version will be ready" and almost nobody will be complaining and you will have good release sales with DRM version on Steam and then release the DRM-free version for all the OS and distribution platforms to earn even more... That's assuming you still want to release the DRM-free version eventually and this assumption makes perfect sense - considering you don't use any platform-locked middleware and has a decent game engine porting on other OSes should be hassle-free.
If you did act with your customers this other way I'm very sure you might have saved your reputation from two community backlashes (first is DRM https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/5v3qjh/2dark_developers_broke_their_kickstarter_promises/ and second is Linux) and most backers might even be supporting your decisions (piracy during initial sales is widely recognized as doing the most harm to developers and using Denuvo for protecting your game initial sales feels like an acceptable solution to address this issue). But now it seems too late...
I assume you'll be giving refunds to people who backed you solely for a Linux version, right?
And "thanks" for helping ruining kickstarted games for Linux devs and supporters.
