Make Sea Ships less OP
you only need one Sea harbour to deal with hundreads of ships at the same time (except the goods capacity). It doesn't feel right if trains uses 5-20 stations per train at the same time but all ships only 1.
it's cheaper to terraform a tile to water than to build a chanal that even cost you monthly and doesn't have the sea harbour advantage.
e.g. (128pak): 1 tile waterway with no speed limit cost 1k$ but canal with speedlimits cost 2k$ (16$).
  • not more than 1-2 ships per tile at the same time at any waterway (with overtake option)
  • Harbours need also the min station lenght ether at shore or seawards (needs a sations extention building placeable next to a harbour on the water)
  • only 1 ship per used harbour-station tile at the same time: a 3 long harbour could, ,take 1 3long ship, 3 1long ships or (1 2long and 1 1long ship) , maybe a optional choose station setting
  • Make terraforming water alot more expensive than building canals around 10x to make sense to build canals first.

Yes, shipping is simply implemented in the program. The original programmers were apparently of the opinion that ships are not important. This is still waiting for a programmer who implement the fine details.

There is only one possibility for a Sea harbour. Making it expansiv make it invaluable for smal tasks. There is no limit for doing small harbour.

This is also a theme for the international Forum, only there does it get enough attention.
