That kind of sun is a visual icon of the '80s synthwave era. If you type "80s sun" into Google images you'll get this [www.google.com]
As for Power Drive 2000, I'm sure it will be a great racer. We're waiting for it ourselves! But Neon Drive is not a racer at all. As you can see in the trailers, it's an arcade rhythm dodger featuring airplanes, robots, top-down shooting sequences etc.
And even if our game was a racer, the truth is we've started development on Neon Drive before anyone knew of Power Drive. We can easily prove this by the dates of our early builds and projects.
Even tough the game is not out yet, THEY STOLE "THE MODEL" lol
I will give Neon Drive a chance and compare it to Power Drive 2000 as soon as both games are out.
Good luck with the launch guys, let's hope it wont go under with unfair comparisons or gets called out as a Power Drive 2000 ripoff.
Just because Power Drive 2000 maybe was listed out there first doesn't mean people can't make a game similar just the way they'd like to.
This reminds me of AudioSurf. Looks like a completely different playstyle than Power Drive. But I'm okay with it.
I feel like more of these threads will be created upon release and people will look really dumb.
It's like they only want 1 80's themed game on Steam. Power Drive 2000.

All of that being said, this game looks like it's doing its aesthetic about as well as anyone could, and I look forward to trying it out. There aren't enough good rhythm games out there these days to pass over one that looks as potentially solid as this one.
THIS game is NOT like PowerDrive, as the dev notes above. Neon Drive is more like AudioSurf from what I can see, and while it has that same retrofuturistic 80s feel, so do plenty of other games including Far Cry Blood Dragon.
Best explanation, i will edit my OP with that.
i was not talking gameplay wise but my first reaction when i saw this game was that it looked too much like Powerdrive 2000, guess i was wrong
