Help Controller
Im using a XBox360 controller but some of the buttons do not work, specifically A which is bite, X which is eat, and B wich is mark territory. Y (howl) works, as do the rest, just those 3.

I haven't ever tried hooking up any of my old Xbox 360 controllers to my computer to play wolfquest, but I do know that you have to set it up in a certain way or else it doesn't work properly. Alas, older PC games like WolfQuest usually are hard to play with a controller, as you are playing the game in a way that it wasn't meant to be played. I'd suggest looking for support on the WolfQuest forums.

i know its an old game but it states controler support so i just expected it to have at least basic support.

Controller support in 2.7 is partial but it should work; did a quick test with my 360 controller and it seems to be working just fine. Apologies for the obvious question, but are you using those buttons when the relevant actions are available? For example, attacking certain NPCs when the bite indicator appears, eating from a carcass when indicated or having made sufficient progress in the single player or multiplayer "Raise Pups" mode of Slough Creek to be able to mark territory...?

If you are and nothing is happening, make sure the controller and all inputs it can generate are being properly detected by your computer. If it isn't, try reinstalling its driver or test another controller if you have one handy to rule out problems with the external hardware. If it is functioning correctly with other devices or applications, consider reaching out to the developer about this or submit a bug report[support.wolfquest.org].

i definately was, also i tried reinstalling the drivers, only after exhausting other ports did i opt to submit here to see if anyone had similar problem and maybe found a solution. i did find a solution by going into steam big picture mode, and emulating the keyboard buttons to the 360 controller, just those 3 buttons, the rest works as should. so for anyone who might have issue in the futrue, just remap the buttons to the keyboard counterparts in steam. thanks for the suggestions and help Nightangel, i will still probably send in a bug report

Sorry you've had trouble, and glad you figured it out, and thanks for sharing the solution.

Yeah, the current game has partial controller support -- partial because some of the UI elements are very old, technically. But WolfQuest 3 will be solid.
