Why is Full Screen a weird resolution?
So I turn on the Full Screen option, and I'm given these massive black bars at the top and bottom. Cursor is actually constrained within these bars. Feels very weird.

What?! Now the full screen mode is letting me down... What system are you using? Could you send a screenshot to mvizlab@gmail.com?

Unfortunately I can't get a screenshot that shows the problem... Using Steam's Overlay screenshot doesn't catch the black bars, neither does Print Screen to MS Paint... And I don't have a mobile phone, so I can't just photo the monitor. It's like the game is putting it into a resolution scale my monitor has no understanding of. And the monitor doesn't have any manual screen stretch capabilities. :(

Sorry.

Intel i7, 3.20GHz
6GB Ram
Windows 7 Home Premium (SP1)
AMD Radeon HD 6900
Alienware AW2210 monitor

Yeah, it's old. Still runs fine.

Amd fx 6100

As said before, there is no way to record the problem even my screen capture program shows a real fullscreen.

I had to use my mobilephone http://1drv.ms/1oO4Xwe

Yep, that's exactly how it looks on my screen as well.

Thank you for screen captures! Hmm... so sorry... Honestly, I have no clue why that is happening... I wonder if there's any expert who can help out. T.T

Any Idea why we can´t screenshot/record those black bars?

And It seems, that this bug is really odd, because Zorlond and I are using 2 completely different systems...

I can only assume that it might be monitor related...? Because I've never encountered this before. I'll see if I can ask other people. Could you check if your moniter menu supports either Panorama view or 4:3 view? If you're using Geforce, please go to NVIDIA control panel -> Display -> Desktop scale and position. Please tell me if you can change options from there.

Interesting. I went into my AMD Catalyst Control Center, and went to My Digital Flat-Panels -> Properties (Digital Flat-Panel) -> Image Scaling Preferences -> Enable GPU up-scaling, and turned it on. (Scaling Mode to Scale image to full panel size)

When I started the game up with this setting turned on, the bars vanished and the menu filled the full screen like it's supposed to. Not sure why this worked, but it did. Also not sure if there's been any positive or negative effects with other games... I'll come back if it does something nasty to my system.

So... in short, it worked... right?

So Gpu scaling is the way to go
Thank you both! :)
