WTF is going on ?
I have been trying to play this game, but there seems little or no explaination of some of the stats used in the game.

For instance I was trying to find out what 1CE is in the additional supply given by starbase upgrades, but cannot seem to find where this is explained.

I'm happy to play the game, but I need a bit more to go on with regard to what upgrade might be worth getting when.

Any help along these lines appreciated.

Try http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?488-Sword-of-the-Stars-II&s=22f60b63f5eb0946219c7291fc71eee9 and/or http://sots2.rorschach.net/SotS2_Codex for example (there are a lot of other fan sites).
Hopefully you get that kind of information you're looking for. ;)

The CE points are how many ships can be stationed at that system and remain active. So, 6 CE means you can have an active fleet of only 6 ships there.

Awesome thanks for the sites.. Yeah I really like to know exactly what's going on ;)

be more specific. CE stands for crusier equivalent. so to use your 6 CE example you can station 6 crusier class vessels in the system or 2 dreadnaught class vessals since 1 dreadnaught is equivalant to 3 crusiers.

If you want explanations for things don't forget to use the in game chat. Most people will try and help and no questions are 'nooby'.
Also it is worth scouring the Kerb. forums as I frequently learn new things from reading the odd posts there.
The links above are very good too. Hope you can learn what you need to enjoy the game more :)

Here's another brilliant idea. The manual. As all manuals it's probably not 100% accurate anymore but it does explain the basic meaning of stats. Otherwise the codex or kerb's forums are the place to go. I suppose you could go to paradox's forum but that seems rather pointless to me.

Where's the manual exactly ?

Nevermind found it thanks!

tbh I'm still pretty hazy on what a CE is or does, how does it fit into the game ? How does "support" of CE's help ? Aren't ALL my ships supported ?

systems on their own have a limited support infastructure for ships. ships require supplies maintanence etc. by itself a system can support so many ships, this is displayed as crusier equivalents since crusiers are your basic ship class. each class you go up uses more crusier equivalents. DN's use 3 and levis use 6 i think since they are bigger and have larger crews and thus require more supplys and maintainence.

is a system does not have enogth CE'sto support the fleet/ships you send there they will have to go somewhere else to find resupply and maintinance because the system in question simply doesnt have the support capacity for additional active ships. that said you can have as many as you want in the reserve pool at that system.

logistics, got to love them.

Thanks yeah I did find it once I asked a few questions on the in-game chat ;)

I think half the issue with this was that 1) it's not labelled as CE and 2) It's in the galaxy map instead of the system information part of the screen (Where it lists planets and their data would be better imo).

Anyhow, got it now thanks for the help there.
