What error?

Likely you either need to clean out and re-install the game, or you need to clean up the drivers on your computer.

And yes, MP works. It is a PITA to get working sometimes depending on your computer's setup, but you can thank the greedy scumbags that bought out Gamespy's parent company then shut down Gamespy for that.

the mars error is not totally uncommon with this game. (if you google it - mars.exe no disk error)

In my case it sometimes (not always) hangs and crashes because it cant find the disk apparently.
Ofcourse i never had a disk, steam only.

nothing wrong with my computer, the literally 100's of games i have dont crash, at least not like that or with weird errors like that.

The log seems to mention alot of "objects not found" type of errors.
Verified the install, no problems there.
Harddisk scan - no bad partitions or uh sectors i think they're called, so harddrive is okay.

Everything else is working too so i dont know what gives.

Edit : forgot to mention, it seems to happen alot more on bigger maps, so lets say a "4" and below sized map wont crash so easily, anything 6 and up.. well yes then it happens quite alot even on the main menu for example.

Something i can only seem to fix by deleting the save games.

Which is weird enough by itself.

Sounds like the SQL database that is the save file is being corrupted due to some sort of 'fun' memory interraction.

Unfortunately - computer configurations have such a huge variety of possible setups. Could be anything from a virus scanner or malware, to a driver, to an actual memory fault. Who really knows.

If you can reliably replicate the fault, you may be able to post on the Kerberous Tech Support forum and it may lead to positive results - but it is equally possible that they will not be able to duplicate the error on their hardware.

Well thats kind of it, i cant replicate it.

Just played a few hours straight, no problems.
Just like the past few days since it went on sale, no problems except all of a sudden.
Did some research, read some threads, erased all save games and problems stopped.

So now its another waiting game to see when the game messes things up again.. which i suspect has something to do with it loading in the wrong objects or none at all when it should be.

The game worked fine for me up till a patch about a year ago... I then had the Mars error while even setting up to play.

After a great deal of reading... found a thread that linked it to graphic drivers, plugged in an old driver game worked perfectly!

My driver gets updated often, so on further reading it seems to be related to cut down versions of graphic cards that have then been overclocked to make up the difference.

Anyway sorted it, had to replace my sons graphic card, so plugged said offending card into his and bought myself a full version card (full data bus) Quite, cool, and very fast, no issues.

The cut down version you taled about explains why so many integrated video do not work; but cards do
