Victoria II

Victoria II

Can't connect to multiplayer game?
I recently joined a Discord server because single player was not competitive and a little dull. I did try mods and then decided multiplayer. I have a new PC so I only have vanilla Victoria 2 now with the DLCs, but haven't downloaded any mods.

We use Radmin to connect and my connection is perfect, I'm in it securely with the others. No problem.
I open Victoria 2, no mods selected, type in the IP address for multiplayer game and 'game not found.'

Hm, ok. I checked my checksum, same as everyone else- no issue there.
I checked game version, still same as everyone else.
I checked my firewall and saw inbound and outbound traffic is allowed (I even made a separate command to enable it for double measures).
No problems so far .. In the end, I opted out. I uninstalled Victoria 2 and deleted the leftover files in case some of the files were modified in the past (even though I have a new PC and did not copy anything from my old one to my new one).

So now, I have vanilla Victoria 2, no mods, no modified files, fully integrated on the VPN, same checksum, no firewall blocking, same version and yes my custom name is not Player, I changed that too. So, anyone got a bloody thought on this? I have no idea what I've missed and it's probably looking straight at me!

1.) The game version is definetly not the problem. There's a seperate error message for that ("Host has a different game version"). No need to revert back to vanilla or anything.

2.) Check in Radmin , rightlick the Host and 'Ping' him to check if you can establish a connection.
I know you said Connection is perfect, but still gotta ask that.

3.) I'll add you and we can see if we find a fix.

4.) Ideally don't use Radmin (even though you are most likely using because I am promoting it over Hamachi on this Forum) but best is DirectIP. For this, the host has to forward the ports 1630 to 1641.
I'll double check ports and I use Radmin because, well, everyone else uses it in the Discord. Not a lot of choice, considering this is my first attempt at multiplayer, I'm still a bit of a noob coming on these communities for Paradox.
Ports are not an issue if you are using Radmin, but ideally you don't use Radmin but just directly connect.

If the MP group is set on Radmin, then that will be out of the question.
I invited you, maybe we can take a look together sometime during the week.

So an update, I actually managed to get into one game of Victoria 2 after reinstalling the game. Second update, I can't rejoin any games a day after .. same issue, but prior I was able to connect? I'm leaning towards the idea it might be a connection issue via Radmin.
we having same issue but we cant even connect to start a new game together and we use radmin any fixes?
Can you ping to each other in Radmin? Rightclick onto the other person and hit 'Ping' and see if there is a stable connection
all 3 of us can ping
I'll add you, lets figure this out in chat
dont use radmin
use port forwariding
''but best is DirectIP. For this, the host has to forward the ports 1630 to 1641.''
so i have the same issue we tried the port forwarding and i'm the only one in the group that has the issue
