Bad legendary towers
In the categorie are some towers who don't belong in this class.

1) Snow Tower: In the second you have your first Frost Guard this tower is outdated.

2) Electric Tower: What's the big difference to Spray Tower? The hit points?

I think this two towers should be downgraded to epic or rare.

Addition:
After ArtiXims comment I tried the Electric Tower again and using it as an alternative Spray Tower works fine.
Alveolate is right, this thread is also about good legendary towers.

Electric tower is completely viable. Is does have less DPS than spray, but has more range, costs less to build and costs less to upgrade. So depending on the map it is sometimes the better tower to use - I certainly rotate between spray and electric. I recently took a level 199 mine - the only way I found it possible was to have the electric tower in my lineup.

Snow tower is hot garbage...

Snow Cannon's primary purpose is not slowdown and cannot compete with a dedicated ice tower. Its strength is a long cone-shaped attack (needs smart placement for best results), the fact that it hits both ground and air (works great vs clusters of Bats), and that it doesn't freeze (possible counter to Yetis if their hp isn't too high).

But yeah... it's not the best at anything, and its large range and default targeting can screw you up if you're not careful. If Air Guard was implemented the way it is in PWD1 I probably wouldn't be using this tower at all.

That doesn't really make any sense - there are other towers that do this better. Ultimately there are limited tower spots and the snow tower does nothing that would ever warrant it getting one of those spots over another better tower. Ergo hot garbage - especially given the classification of legendary.

wait, doesn't Frost Guard slow air as well? only Frost Tower is stuck with land only right?

Snow Cannon feels like a slightly more utility version of Prime Cannon... with the same rather severe drawback: slow projectile. you reeeaaallly need to position them properly to get maximum efficiency. they're also actually quite expensive... 40p start doesn't seem very worth it. Prime Cannon is at least cheap enough to use as a maze wall at times, and cheap enough to just build a large mass of them for loads of aoe dmg.

as for Electric, i haven't used them yet... but i would assume they are far easier to position than Spray, since you don't really need to cover a specific corner + add a slow tower to improve efficiency. those large open maps would definitely work better with Electric.

what about Lightning tower tho? is it any good?

Lightning is another tower I see no point to. It used to be fantastic in PWD1 when the attacks bounced - it was the ultimate bat control tower. Now it is pointless, especially given the prime thistle.

Snow Cannon is the only attack tower that Cannot Be Frozen. With this, and the fact that there is no cheap 'warmth' spell, only the limited cast short duration legendary True Vision, I think Yetis are a design mistake.

I think you forgot the Ice Tower.

Snow Tower has low damage. I don't think you can kill Yetis in hard mode with it.

I have started consistently finishing hard 20 with Yeti's. True Vision completely sorts them out. I usually get to around hard 13-15 before I need to use it. One cast lasts 25 seconds and I have not even begun stacking it with 7* runes which will increase that time. I've been playing for 3 years and have probably used the snow cannon once to see what it did.

so snow cannon seems like a total noob trap... sadface.
it's my first legendary T_T

My too.

As long as you don't have Frost Guard you can use it against bats.
alveolate Jan 12, 2019 @ 9:01pm
i mean, i have only one of it... still kinda hard to use. but yea, it might be alright against blimp too.
alveolate Jan 12, 2019 @ 11:58pm
btw, can we do a reverse of this topic?

"Best Epic and Legendary Towers"

would be a lot more helpful for newcomers who may wanna know which towers to focus on.

Changing the name of an existing discussion might be confusing.

I made an adition to the starting post.

I think he suggested starting a new thread about that topic, not renaming this one. He is just getting into legendary towers so it may be useful for him (and for me maybe as I don't have any yet either). But because he don't have them he can't start that topic himself because he does not have anything to say about them. Just my guess.
alveolate Jan 13, 2019 @ 3:08am
um yep, i guess my phrasing wasn't that clear... but can someone with good legendaries start that thread? thanks!
